Moovalya is a three piece melodic punk band hailing from Phoenix, AZ. Inspired by ‘90s skate punk, they began releasing music through their own record label, Dagger Sight Records. Moovalya began playing as many shows as possible and have since earned a spot on the Vans Warped Tour. They released a full length album in 2012, and did their first West Coast tour in 2013. This year they’ve released their EP, SIXER and are preparing for their second tour. We asked Bassist Sean Stroud about being a profitable band and equipment in which bands should invest. Get out there and play! Sales from shows and real life engagement with fans are more valuable than relying on social networking and digital downloads in the music industry. Invest in reliable gear and a reliable vehicle. If you can make it to a show, and proactively avoid technical difficulties, nothing can stop you. Sean recommends bands save money by doing a lot of their merchandising at home. The band designed its album artwork, packaging, shirts, patchers, flyers and other artwork. If you can develop a skill in this area, you can save some cash. The individual design and authenticity will appeal to your fans. Check out Moovalya on tour to support their EP, SIXER.
